Hey guys- anyone have any experience with the new procedure for these conditions? One of the techs I work with brought this to my attention- we followed the directions as best we could to see what would happen. Couldn't determine if we succeeded with execution, anyone else know about this?

Anonyguys, whazzup widdat? Sure is a good idea, since it's such a PITA to deal with this in earlier models.

Thanks for your input, folks.

I found this posted elsewhere on this site. I have no first hand knowledge but it sounds like someone on the inside who knows what they are talking about.
Investigate first. Perform at your own risk.

Thanks to Gary Louks for posting the following from an official Buell service bulletin.

SPARK PLUG CLEANING PROCEDURE

2008 XB and 1125R Buell motorcycles provide a feature to help clear residual fuel from the combustion chamber if a flooded engine or fouled spark plugs are suspected. This is achieved by opening the throttle to wide open, setting the Run/Stop switch to Run, then turning the ignition switch ON. This will fire the spark plugs for approximately 4 seconds, burning any fuel left over in the combustion chamber. It may be necessary to repeat this procedure several times to allow a severely flooded engine to start.

NOTE: Motorcycle should be in Neutral.

I have the '08 service manual and that test is for the exhaust actuator. It makes it close open close.

Did this today on my 2008 XB9SX that was idling rough, it worked well. Just a note, but the engine light blinks a new times while it does its thing, when it stops blinking, the process is complete.

The fact that this procedure exists is very cool.

Hi Superfleemonkey, is there a way I can get a copy of the service manual online for 08 1125r? Thanks for any help.
