I have a 08 xb12s that the fan came on all the time and all of a sudden it stopped .I know that the weather got cooler, but even when i let it idle after riding for a while the fan still doesnt come on.Is this normal I let it idle for 15 min after riding and no fan .When I turned bike off it ran for 12 minutes.Does anyones 2008 xb12s fan come on at idle after ridding or while sitting at idle for a while. Is this normal. My brothers 07 comes on alot in same weather conditions

Sounds about right to me. Cooler weather does make a big difference for mine, unless I'm at idle and then fan will come on only when I shut it off. I think there might be two temp settings. Temp is lower for fan to run when switched off so that oil doesn't cook off...makes sense to me, but I might be rationalizing. I guess when the oil is circulating through running motor, it still goes through oil cooler.
