I recently bought a 99 X1 that never had ANY of the service bulletins done and I'm trying get it running correctly without blowing the bank. I've read a lot about the various mods including the race ecm and I'm okay with keeping the bike stock and just using the improved programming. I'd rather not spend a grand for the race ECM, a Forcewinder, an exhaust and a VDSTS...

What is my best option(s)? Can I use an ECM from a 2000 X1?

Thanks, Ron

Try ECMSpy. The program is free, the cable does not cost much.

You can read more about it in various areas of Badweb.
