Does anyone know how to mod a stock flasher to eliminate the open /short indicator circuit?

not too sure exactly what you are talking about? Did you convert to LED signals?

I have the same issue. Put on read LED signals and the flasher doesn't work. There is a vendor on E bay that sells a 50 watt resistor @$10/ signal. Sounds like crap. A standard Radio Shack resistor in line with the + on the signals should simulate the load that a regular lamp generates. The only question is what value at 12volts is required?
