AS you probably know I have been mentioning a lot about surging and rough running on a 08 Ulysses. At around 45 degrees it runs fine. At high altitudes it runs fine. Normally feels lean, runs jerky and rough even at 3 to 3500rpm. I was wondering what your feelings were about a Remus controller. It seems, after reading about it, that the Remus should be able to accept the input from factory ECM and correct deficiencies. Reflash the factory ECM? Don't know if it can be done, or if it can, would it make matters worse or ruin the ECM. Don't know. Appreciate comments......Thanks......

You need to make it run right without any aftermarket add ons first. It isn't the mapping, as not all 08's behave like this. You need to get to the root of the problem, not try to correct the symptoms with an aftermarket widget.

Thanks for that. I agree also. I was thinking Buell just act like that due to all the different engine characteristics I'm reading on the web. Figured I'd bypass the factory ECM, but in reality, whatever is put on the bike will be using the data on the down side of the factory ECM. Don't know if I got the time or patience to deal with this. Cold weather and altitude it runs great. I'll never get a Harley Tech to even agree there's a problem in this temperature. They couldn't find a problem when it was doing it badly. (that says a lot about experience, by the way). Anyway its a long time till hot weather when the bike starts its shudders where it can easily be identified. Had a good friend ride it and he picked up on it right away iin cold weather. Said he couldn't find a surge but he could tell something wasn't right. Thats experience! Oh well, I may move on. Don't know at this point. I ride all winter and I feel the roughness on a daily basis. Getten tired of it........
