Seen your post in Sport twin. I have used the nose cone Hi-4 ignition. Got the timing cup from them. The cup from a carbed buell will work. No your speedo will work. You will need to pick up the tach out put from the ignition. I will get the info I have from mine tomorrow.
I did this mod to a 99 S3. Check the crane web site for there info if you need it sooner. I'm not sure about the wiring of our bikes? I feel they are different.

thanks for the reply. the ignition i have is the hi-4e which is supposed to be plug and go but it was not designed for the x1 thou, so for me to get it to work i have to cut off the deustch and sodder the wires to the the ones ones my bike. The problem is i dont know what each wire in the hi-4e is supposed to represent. oh and the hi-4e bolts to where to original ecm went, it uses the stock cam position sensor.

ok i still need help on this one .i went and bought the harley adapter wiring harness(44$) but the problem is it comes with a seven pin connector so now im supposed to spend another 40 bucks for a 7 to 8 pin adapter. im gonna have to draw the line there. i would much rather just cut the heads and solder the wires together. but the crane has its own color coding that they dont post. there site just says you have to buy the adapter. if someone with the crane could take detailed pictures(angles) of this adapter so i can figure which pin matches with which pin on the crane or explain how they did it. i would love to finish this project without another trip to harley or spend a pointless 40 bucks that i would rather put into something like a air/fuel gauge.
