I have a 97 M2 that has a lower and upper spiked plate "pinching" the fuel tank tab at the rear. The OE part is NLA and no one has it. Most early S1 and S2 also use this. Do y'all have the same mounts? Or do you have a ramp mount with the bolt/washer? Are you aware of a Recall/tech bulletin with this info? Thanks.

Who told you it was no longer available? Many rumors of unavailable parts have been disproven many times. Especially when it comes to a safety or recall related component.

to go to the recall spreadsheet and look at item #814, I believe this is the one covering the plates you are referring to.

I'll let someone else get into who to contact in your region, and seeing as how per your profile you are in New Jersey I believe you will probably be pleasantly surprised at the support you are most likely about to receive.

Thanks very much Mikej. I had 3 dealers check the OE part(61440-94Y), so i'm pretty sure it is NLA, but only 1 mentioned the bulletin. This is what I have so the Recall was performed on my bike and this is what is now serviced I'm sure.

A lot of numbers have been superseded, so a dealership has to go beyond simply looking up a specific part number, especially if it has a -94 in it. I could be wrong, and the part might be off the active list, but some who have direct and indirect connections often state it as a challenge that most if not all parts are still available for tube frame Buells.

Are you looking to get some replacement parts?
