Hi, I'm new to the board but hope to be around for a while.

A friend suggested that because I come in at 6'3" and just under 240, that I might benefit from race springs. He understands that they are bit rough off track but that might not be a concern considering my size. I have the stock setup to the recommendations for my weight and the bike did improve quite a bit so I'm not sure it would be necessary to step up to the race springs.

Anyone out there have some experience with them or with larger individuals on an XB12s?

Best to get with aftermarket and get springs for your weight. Race Tech, Hyperpro, wilbers to name a few. Check with American Sport Bike also.
