Salesmen are friendly, 'though I've never bought a bike from them. Parts men are mostly friendly and helpful. Thomas Baker, Asst. Parts Manager has knowledge of "Bikes Other Than Harleys", and is a big help in locating parts elsewhere. Rocky is their "Buell Tech", and he fixed a problem with my carburetor (it was mostly that it was "gummed up", but he also installed a different low speed jet). My only complaint is that they don't stock many parts... leastwise, not the ones I want. You'd think they would have spark-plug wires in stock! Thomas almost always says it will take ten days to get the parts, then he calls a couple days later to let you know that they're in. I guess that leaves you with a more positive impression than if he had said it would take 2 days to get the parts, then didn't call for two weeks.

Anyways, Paradise H-D/Buell in Tigard, Oregon is, all-around, a good place. Nice, bright, BIG showroom full of new Harleys and parts, etc. I haven't looked for Buell apparel there, in a long time... dunno whether they have any.

In late '04 I bought a "new" demo '03 XB9Slow from Paradise as my wife's 1st bike (it's now my streetfighter). Turned out that "demo" in this case meant "demolition":

Paradise did my initial 1k service, fixed a clutch cable oil leak, but reported no other issues with the bike. Preparing for the bike's 2nd season and doing some mods, I noted obvious signs of a "demo" crash that was not reported to me as buyer (the bike has never gone down during our ownership). Paradise has not made any move to remediate the problem, and I will never again do business with company.

Perhaps we should have seen the signs:

-a Buell sales guy almost dropped the XB12R we were looking at... later admitted that he actually did not ride!

-little but sneers from the sales and parts counter folks, and we bought a LOT of stuff from them until finding the demo damage.

The Tigard store is hardly "paradise".
NOT RECOMMENDED.
