2000 M2. I have the newer shock but can not find the updated bracket (16.5 vs. 14.5). Has anyone made an adapter to fit the old bracket that will allow the newer shock to work. And if I machine/weld a bracket that is slightly longer and allow the rear end to sit lower. And yes I have already tried the want ads here and Ebay. Heck, just thought an adjustable bracket would be neat also. Well any info is better than none. Thanks.

I run a early bracket with an adapter and later shock, like you mention on a S2.. It lowered the bike and works well but make sure you know what the adapter is made of since your life depends on it, don't skimp on the hardware either....

Thanks S2 I think I have a good plan so far and access to the materials. I don't have the variable of changing weight. The wife doesn't ride with me. It's just me and the bike. And i've altered a few bikes and still here to talk about it. You only live once.

I have a front shock mount bracket sitting here and it looks exactly the same as the one I have on my M2 with the updated reservoir shock. It may be what you need but I'm not sure. Can send you pics and measurements if that would help.

If the shock mount is fairly straight, it's the one for the long shock. If it's bent, or banana shaped, it's the one for the short shock. I have both brackets, but I'm using the bent one on my short shock.

Hi Ragnagwar. DJ's description sounds right. Would you let me purchase it from you? I'll PM you.

I'm sure it's the right one, but I'll let you guys verify it first.

I'm pretty sure that's the correct one. It looks just like the one on my bike right now.

Vago, have you checked on having it rebuilt? You could put a tasty Progressive spring on there and all for way less than a new or used shock

XB won't work, but you should be able to find a used Buell shock that will, or as Thumper suggests, have yours rebuilt.
