I have an '00 M2 with a belt, but am seeking the advice of anyone who has converted to chain drive with the good, or bad issues ... Pro's and Con's. Thanks.

Converted my 00 M2 to chain and don't regret it for a second.

Pro's - Chain will usually stretch to a ridiculous degree before it breaks giving fair warning. Gearing can be easily changed and sprockets in different sizes are both easy to come by and inexpensive.

Con's - Requires regular maintenance such as lube and tension adjustments.

I've been using a chain for the past five years. Wasted a couple chains and a set of sprockets in that time...but at least I've never been stranded by it.

It'd be good to have some kind of rub block or roller near the swingarm mount block. Otherwise, there's no issues with install.
