i relocated this thread, so mods please delete this one

well, i have no spark on my 99x1. i have replaced the cam pickup sensor and the coil, both to no avail. the plug wires are good, and i tried putting a plug in the wires and then setting the plug against the block, no spark!!! im at a loss here, and this bike is my daily means of transportation. does anyone else have any insight that may help me??

If you have access to a meter for 12v check for on off transitions with power & ignition on at the coil




With the key and ignition on,
voltage should change as you rotate the engine, plugs out and wires grounded. check from B to A and B to C

the coil is turned off to make a spark.

thats one test

visualy inspect the wiring from the ecm to the coil check for nicks and cuts

IF YOU CAN borrow a known good ECM and swap it out as the ECM controls the EFI and the ignition,

OH BTW if 12v not present AB BC check the ignition relay and the other switches / fuses .
