For an upcoming track day, I want to disable the headlights and taillight to avoid the tape making a mess on hot lights. I just need to pull the fuse right?
the service manual for the xb9 states that the "lights" fuse is the second one from the bottom on the left side of the fuse box. when I pull this fuse, the lights still work. help!!?!?!?!

what am I missing? is there a typo in the service manual? I just don't want to randomly start pulling fuses in fear of mucking something else up....

thanks in advance.

FWIW, I believe the reason track operators want tape on lights is to contain glass particles if, for whatever reason, a headlight, taillight, or turn signal light breaks, there won't be glass shards on the track. If the lights are operational or not is not the concern.

right...exactly my belief too. what I've also heard is that taped up headlights/taillights that are functioning result in a gooey mess of tape residue on the lights...that's the reason I want them to not be functioning.

right....

there's a fuse for the ECM. If I end up pulling that one in this "trial and error" approach, will that have any ill effects on the ECM?
