Ok so I've got a 03xb9s that was stock. 2 months ago I put on a D&D, Race ECM (remapped by AL at American Sport Bike), 07 airbox, and I'm about to change over to an open airbox and reroute the breather hoses.

Two problems
1. The check engine light will come on when I'm riding (high or low RPM'S) then go off after about a few minutes. My fan has been coming on at random times like there is a short in the wire, sometimes it even stays on for 15 min after riding. Then sometimes it doesn't come on when I shut her down after a 10 min ride to the store (3-4k rpm's)?

2. When I'm on the highway doing 70-80 (4k-4.5k rpm's) the engine hesitates and I have a sudden horsepower loss so I have to ease the throttle back then re-apply just to maintain 70mph. This happens at low speeds too but not as bad since I changed from the stock ECM and had a questionable TPS reset done (Hickory HD-Buell). In addition when I stop at a light off the interstate the RPM's are bouncing around from 1500 to 2000 like bananas, (normal idle at 900-1000).

I'm a bit frustrated almost enough that I want to switch back to stock but I love the sound.

Anybody help?

Travis

Not sure about your fan issue; possible cylinder head temperature sensor or fan wiring/chaffing/grounding/shorting issue?

On the engine issue I'd first suspect the suspect TPS resetting.

Thanks Blake I hope to get another TPS done asap but the closest dealer is almost 2hrs away from 28711.
