i took my bike to the mech and he told me that the piston blew and that crushed everything inside . he told me that it would be more expensive to fix it than to get another engine. so i am here trying to find a solution that so far seems to be finding a engine. any ideas??

I think this mech is blowing smoke up your *ss! My Buell motor had a blown front piston and a bent front connecting rod. I had to strip down the motor, clean it out, replace the oil pump, pistons, rings, and front connecting rods, have it balanced but it's back on line. You can't get a used motor for less then about $2000.00 and I'd hate to think of what a new motor would cost from Buell. How much mechanic experience do you have?

Sounds like you need a second opinion for sure. Or maybe a service manual and some tools if you are the kind of person that would like to delve into it yourself.

If you have lost compression and the engine will turn over but not start, you have not trashed the engine yet. An upper end rebuild (piston and rings, etc.) may be all that is needed and that is not that expensive, especially if you do it yourself.

If the engine is frozen up and won't turn over, you probably have more extensive damage and may need to rebuild things like the connecting rod, the crankshaft, the cams and valve train, etc. And it is then a major rebuild project.

A little basic trouble shooting should let you determine if you need a just a top end rebuild or crankshaft up full rebuild. With that determined the economics can be better considered.

well now i have my back at home ,and i am looking for the manual of the blast to see if i can do it myself. with the little i know from mechanics the piston is in bad shape and the head is scratched . as far as low end damage i can not tell because the mechanic gave it back to me with everything on place . he told me that the cram shaft and the connecting rod needed to be repaired . how do i know if it does really need to be replaced because when i took it back home the rod was going up and down as i pushed it .
