I own an 05XB12S
I am about to get by Buell tested for remissions in Japan. I have a stock Japanese pipe, and Ecm a friend is going to loan me. This test is going to cost about 1500$. I was wondering Is there any tips I can do to make sure it passes? Or run the cleanest possible? I was thinking.

Fresh High octane (93) gas.
Fresh plugs.
Stock filter or would a k& N work better?

Anyone got any suggestions I can do to make this bike run as clean as possible the first time? I open for anything.

Thanks

Fresh oil too. You'll need to have a TPS reset performed when you install the other ECM.

Also note that the ECM's owner, if he wants to reinstall his ECM back into his bike, will then need to have a TPS reset performed when doing so.

If its a borrowed ECM, make sure you plan on a TPS reset both before the test (so your bike is running right) and after the test (to put it back to where it needs to be for the donor bike).

I would think the stock filter would be the much better choice.

Thanks guys,
We both have race ecms now. I am using his old stock (possibly Japanese specific)model) ECM for the test. His bike is an 06 xb 12 so i dont think there is much of a difference there. I got the VDSTS and have done the tps reset tons of times. We should be good to go. I am leaning towards the stock filter for the test. I wish I had a good explanation towards K&N vs. stock when it comes to emissions though. Either way Thanks for the inputs.
