I need the part numbers for the front and rear shock clamps for a 2000 M2. Anyone have a parts book that can look that up for me?

These are the clamps that attach the remote reservoir to the bike. My M2 had the old (no external oil reservoir) shock. I just got a replacement for it on e-bay - and it has the remote reservoir. Looking at service bulletin B-35, there is a front and rear clamp. The service bulletin lists the part # for an entire kit - I don't need the entire kit just the clamps. I already have the re-inforced parts (front mount).

Use regular old worm drive hose clamps.

Do you have the rubber spacers?

Mine is a 2000 M2 - according to the service bulletin (B-035A) I don't need the rubber spacers.

I bought a set of worm drive hose clamps last night. I can't figure out how to get the bolt through the worm drive clamp into the front shock mount.

I also can't figure out how to get the rear clamp and the oil feed line attached. The diagram in the service bulletin is not that clear.

You only really need the special clamp that attaches the reservoir to the front shock mount. I did away with the rubber spacer and hose clamp when it started making my oil pump feed hose leak through it's fittings. I never had a problem with it after that.

I eventually did away with the old shock and reused that special clamp to hold a Penske reservoir thusly...

Well - I tracked down the part # - but it is at least 2 weeks away <sigh>. Trying to figure out a) if I can make a regular old hose clamp work or b) where to get the clamp ASAP

Ok - report back. My friendly HD-Buell shop's Buell mechanic had the clamps stashed away. Thankfully when I was trying to figure out what I could use from a hardware store, he offered his stashed clamps.

Success! The bike handles like a dream. Thanks to all who helped.

Did you replaced the shock yourself?
Was it a difficult job?
I got a new shock for my 99 M2, but still haven't decided to do it.

Hey Mack,

Yep - it really was a an easy fix. You WILL want to support the frame (take the load off of the shock entirely). I have a Pit Bull front lift and used an engine hoist to support the rest of the frame. If you don't do that, the swingarm will "relax" and you won't be able to get the shock to line up to the attach points.

Start to finish - maybe 20 minutes.

I used the Service Bulletin for torque values.
