I have an Icon Tarmac mesh jacket, and the main zipper seems to pull apart from the bottom sometimes, for no apparent reason. I zip the thing up nice and tight, I even tried to pull the zipped teeth apart with my hands, and I could not do it. However, I have had on 3 occasions, the jacket unzip on its own from the bottom. Any ideas? Anyone have a similar problem? The jacket is not that new, and the receipt is long gone, so I doubt that I could have it done by the manufacturer under warranty.

I don't have your item, but take it into any decent tailor shop (drycleaner works too).

Have them look at it. Maybe you have a cracked zipper tooth.

Last thing you want is your coat coming undone just as you really need it.

I was thinking of doing that Corp. thanks. I'll have to start looking around for a tailor. Hopefully it won't take more than a couple of days.

bombero, i have the very same jacket and experience the same problem but i did find the cause, it only comes apart when you dont engage both sides of the teeth with the zipper "all the way down" for some reason you can still zip it up when the zipper part isnt completely at the bottom so make sure you pull that little bugger all the way down before you attempt to engage the other side then try and pull the zipped jacket apart from the bottom (dont pull hard) very little pulling will result in the jacket opening up when you dont have the zipper properly aligned when engaged, hopefully this helps

Thanks for the info Graham. I have been using the jacket pretty regularly this season, and I have not had the problem since posting this. I have been paying very close attention when I zip it up, and I am very deliberate when doing so. Thus far, it has worked out pretty well. I have even tried to pull it apart, and I can not.

I did have one of the snaps at the end of the sleeves come apart. That was a pretty easy fix, but I am a little disappointed with the finish of this jacket.

Thanks again.
