I just put a brand new front on an 03 XB9R to excorcise possible demons from the original. I got backed into by an SUV, and also had an incompetent fork service performed.

I'm now having slight headshake around high speed sweepish corners & in turbulence. Happens between 80 & 90 mph. Front wheel might not be balanced, or it's the minimal damping settings that I find necessary for Boston area roads? These are the worst roads I've ever seen except for the real old ones in northeast Vermont that the WPA forgot! It used to NEVER have any instability in CA. Curvy onramp at 90mph, never any problem...

The wheel was balanced before I installed new rotor, hmmmmmm.....

Of course, a dampener would look way cool, but should be unnecessary! So, I'm faced with problems that might only come out on track day for some. I'm just blowing off steam on the way home from work. Yaknow...

?? Possible neck bearing preload adjustment or front wheel bearing. adjustment. It really doesn't take much at that speed. Just my 2 cents worth.

As an after thought did the bearings get replaced?

Hi Bert,

XB bearings are all cartridge. Torqued to spec, but things may have "settled"? I will re-check, thx! Will check head bearings too. That's a good idea... Those would only get worse!
