I ordered a Givi Rear case the other week and also ordered a Ventura Rack system which from what I was told, won't be in stock for 3 weeks. Someone from the company distributing it said my givi will not work with the Ventura system.

Curious if this is true (even if modifying the rack) and if there is a "universal" rack system available for the XB9SX City. I will find a way to use this case either way, just would like to know if there is a "easy" buy ou there before I start doctoring on some steel tubing :P

I have the Ventura rack and a Givi E260 monolock mounted on the rack with no problems. The monolock comes with a universal mounting kit. You will need to play around with the mounts to figure out where you want them but you will not need to make any adjustments to the rack. It was pretty straight forward install.

Does anyone know if a larger givi top box would fit?

Thunderheart, which distributor won't have them for 3 weeks?

Tm74,

Any size monolock should fit on the universal base. You just need to keep in mind the weight involved. I have been thinking of getting a bigger one to fit two helmets for trips.

I'd like to have one larger than the 26 myself especially since there are no hard bag solutions for the XB9s(except for the expensive H&B setup). Do you know offhand how much weight the Ventura will handle?

I'm also curious of another setup. Would the givi mount on the pack rack? I would like a setup where I could mount the pack rack with a 45 litre bag like normal. Out back on the rack I'd like to have a givi installed. I would imagine you couldn't open the givi without un-locking it from the base but that would be ok. Do you think this would work?

I can't find any info on givi racks for buells. I'm looking for pannier racks for my Uly. Anyone have any info?

I have both Givi 26 and 46 litre topboxes and like others can be mounted on Ventura brackets. While the 26 litre one looks OK to me the 46 litre looks ridiculous.

This is the 26 litre one

Graham - could you mount that topbox so it is a little more forward? It seems that thing is hanging way off of the bike.

Thanks

Unless you want to completely customize the Ventura rack, you really don't have a choice as to where the bag goes, it will be sticking way out back.

Did you check with American Sport Bike to see how fast they can get it?
