Hi. I'm wanting to fit bar end mirrors to a 2006 XB12R Firebolt. I like the look of the style on American Sport Bike (5072 - Bar End Mirror). What do the look like on a Firebolt? Do they do the business? And is it a drama to fit them? Thanks.

i have heard they work fine. i have the CRG lane splitter mirrors and have had them on my lightning. i am putting a firebolt front-end on and plan on using the same mirrors. as far as a report "on the business" i have never had mirrors with such clarity and vibration free service. post pics if you beat me to it.

I forget what brand bar-ends I have, but they are worth putting on. I can see around my shoulders now and they look good. I put 2 pairs of stick-on LED turn signals on the front. One pair covers the mirror holes and the other covers the turn signal mount holes.

Kedo,

I would like to put those bar ends on my 05 lightning. Did you cut off the plastic nub from the ends of your hand grips and mount the CRG inside the bar?

Thanks!

Pinchme- NO! Don't cut them off! Take a channel-lock plier and gently twist them out. If you want them "blemish free" put a shop rag around them before grabbing them with the pliers. You might want them if you ever do a track day or go back to your stock mirrors. If you cut them off, you'll have to dig the rest out from inside the bars.

Kedo- Thanks for that post! I'm about to put Napoleon bar ends on my XB9S and was wondering how those plastic ends should be removed!

Pinchme & Runamuck- it is very satisfying to be able to contribute to the BWB. I am glad I could help.
