Wieners, I just noticed that you are in New Jersey. No matter where you are in the state it may be a good idea
to take you bike over to Liberty to get this thing sorted out.

The guys at Liberty LOVE Buells and do not treat Buell owners like second class citizens.

They are sponsors on this board and Anthony (Mutation Racer) and the guys take pride in taking care of us.

Just a thought....

guys thanks for the advise, liberty is about an hour away and its an option.i never took a stop watch to it but in the intrest of details it starts and idles fine for 30 sec then starts to get irratic surging up and down at 45 sec it stalls re starts and runs poorly with no intervention and around 2min 20 sec the pipes start to glow around 3 min they are both glowing about half way to muffler.never having touched the throttle so there it is i think you will agree thats not normal.i took my air box cover off today to check it out and there was only one plastic washer left, one of the screws was mis matched and all of the vent lines and the cable for the exhaust solenoid were all out of place.i secured every thing and turned up the idle alittle as suggested, the idle surged worse and my pop on accelation was the same oh well

If they are only an hour or so a way you owe it to yourself to let the guys at Liberty help you.

They will go the extra mile for you if you drive the extra distance to them.

I tend to agree. I confess to having precious few FACTS in this case but nothing I have read thus far presents a persuasive case (HD guy, socializing, vague diagnosis) that resolution is imminent.

I've invoked the talents of the folks at Liberty on prior occasions and have faith in their ability.

The is nothing particularly unusual or unknown about these motorcycles.

I'd take Moose up on his offer.

That's my PERSONAL opinion.

I'm just dying for some resolution on this, man! PLEASE, take that poor bike to Liberty!

I battled my bike for months until I finally got it running right, and I was SO insanely happy when it finally stopped acting funny. Unfortunately I didn't have a warranty to cash-in since the bike was a 2001, so I ended up having to fix it myself. Turns out, the problem with my bike was simply leaky intake seals. $10, 90 minutes, and some good advice from BADWEB is all it took... But, the point is I can identify with your frustration level right now...

Seriously, man. Good luck, and I really hope it gets fixed soon...

nick

Steve:

Excellent. Glad Buell was able to provide you precisely what you wanted.

Just think if you'd been through the same ordeal with Honda?? : )

Keep us posted.

well i looked at what is on the market and lets just say i will probably be looking at an 08 xb12 for the spring i havent found any that are coming in until oct or nov so i will wait til spring
your right court i dont think i want to take the chance that a jap manufacturer will stand behind their cookie cutter bike.so now i wait and save

p.s. even though i had problems with my bike it was still an awsome bike,i miss it

I'm glad that they were able to do right by you.

Most of us here know that Buell is willing to look after their customers... It is usually at the dealership (with a few NOTABLE
exceptions) that things "break down". I would highly recommend giving the guys at Liberty a shot when you go looking
for your new bike. They will make the experience much better. From beginning until you trade it in... for another Buell!
They have a well deserved reputation for outstanding customer service in the Buell community. Count yourself lucky to
live so close to one of the best Buell dealers in the US.

So, me may yet get to meet you and see your new bike a Homecoming next July!

I'm glad it is resolved, and I really hope you get that `08.

I really, really hope that the dealership is able to get your old bike sorted out before they sell it to somebody else.
