Thanks for taking the time to read this...

I dont know if I have a problem yet, but I figured I would ask.

I have a '04 XB12s and It seems that at high RPM and high speed, my gauge lights start flickering. I did not notice the headlight dim, I was focused on other things at the time. The engine did start to sputter a little bit. My though was that it was the rev limiter, but I did not think that would cause the lights to go crazy. Again, this only happens when im in 5th gear going very fast and wide open throttle.

Rob, it sounds like you might have a loose ground wire that's flopping around in the wind. I'm not real familiar with the S, but on the R the ground for all the lights is on the frame at the front of the steering head. It's a t27 screw with a couple ring terminals under it. Try looking there first. Ricochet
