Have neglected my '03 since I have been busy. Aside from Plexus for the bodywork, I need some good stuff to really clean my wheels, restore the black plastic parts, etc.

I would appreciate your input as I got back on her this season after debating getting a new bike, but it just fits so well!

The S100 Detail and Wax seems to put an exceptional shine on the plastic body parts as well as anything black plastic.

How about a restorative remedy for XB tail section with slight de-lamination? Say if I used fine grain sandpaper, buffing compound, swirl remover, then Plexus?

That's what happens when you ride around with soft luggage all the time. Plus side is you break up sporty XB9R outline & don't get as many tickets. Apparently new look doesn't immediately trigger "sportbike pursuit response" in Deputy, or Trooper predator type brain. I have no cited violations since "baggerization". Down side is 5mph loss on top speed. Irelevant if you live on dense Eastern Seaboard.

The solution (hahaha) for restoring ALL the finish surfaces can be found here. I've found Adam's Premium Car Care Products the answer to:
1) polishing header pipes -- they have Metal Polish #1 for heavy duty cleaning & polishing and #2 for ultra fine sheen & protectant,
2) polishing out scratches in plastic bodywork -- Swirl & Haze Remover along with Revive polish works to remove the dead faded surface and get to the bright original color,
3) washing, cleaning and maintaining the plastic bodywork -- the Car Wash removes dirt without taking off wax; the Clay Bar and Detail Spray take off surface deposits to prepare for polish and wax,
4) maintaining the plastic bodywork -- Butter Wax adds to the gloss and protection for the new surface, Detail Spray keeps the surface smooth, slick and helps in applying the Revive Polish,
5) restoring black finish plastic parts and engine paint -- VRT (Vinyl, Rubber, Tire) dressing keeps the plastic switch housings like new {don't use it on MC tires though}; In and Out Spray maintains black engine paint and other black plastic parts with a low-gloss finish.

I honestly use all this stuff on my Buells and cars. I have a show car, a Meyers Manx SR, painted International Orange 27 years ago. It started looking faded and dull, but after I found Adams's Detailing products, it took a bit of rubbing with the Revive Polish and a few coats of Butter Wax to restore the paint to trophy winning brilliance and gloss.

I don't work for Adams but I'm just a car & bike nut who happened to find these amazing products locally that help keep my toys looking like new.

Tip for protecting body panels from saddle bag wear: get some clear self-adhesive vinyl sheeting from a sport bike accessory store or a stationery store (for protecting drawings and such).
