Speedo quit working on the way to work this morning!! about 4 miles before it quit my bike backfired (never done that) and about 8 miles after the speedo quit it started cutting out on me. After about 30 seconds of spitting & popping it was fine the rest of way to work & home!! I figured must be electrical since the speedo quit!! I checked the fuses & batt connections & for loose wiring, but all seems fine!!

Thanks for any help!!

: ) I miss my tuber! Brings back fond memories.

Your speedo sensor is toast. You can try pulling it and cleaning it, but it probably won't help. The updated factory part will solve the problem.

Oh, and while you are there, make sure your bike already has the updated front exhaust mount. Your header studs will thank you....

And run your drive belt on the loose side, the factory manual procedure makes it easy to run that too tight.
