A story why I will never deal with Susquehanna Valley HD again.

Three months ago I purchased a 2001 X1. It was truely a deal to good to be true. 340 miles and a race kit for 5 g's (not a mark on it) I saw it and immediatley put 500 down on it before it even started. It had been basically sitting since 2001 so it needed little odds and ends. This was understandable. However it took them over a month to get it put back together and running. In the mean time I had recieved conflicting storys from several sales and service reps. Including one story that they were going to have to raise the price after i had already put a down payment because of the amount of unexpected work they had to do to it. THey had to replace all filters, and lubes, as well as fuel injectors and a fuel pump (with all applicable seals and gaskets). Well, anyways i finally got it and loved it to death until it crapped out on me. It would not start. I took it to Iron Valley HD because of the bitter taste i had from Susquehanna HD. Amazingly Iron Valley diagnosed the problem and had the parts and the bike fixed in less than a week. What did it need you ask? A fuel pump, and a fuel filter. The fuel filter that the first one had put on was a defective model ending in KA the right one should have ended in KD. The fuel pump that took over a month to put on a S.V. took I.V. under a week. In analysis of events S.V.H.D. didn't care about me or my repeat business. They mearly tried to put as little money into the bike as possible to shut me up and get me out the door minus 5 grand. They either intentialy sabotaged the bike (because of the stink i raised, you would too if 3 days turns into a week, into next week, into so on), or they out of complete ineptness have no clue how to install a fuell pump setting the bike up for failure. All of their mechanics are buell certified technitions apparently, however i get the impression that means they watched the orientation video and management signed off to make the paperwork look pretty. Now on the other hand I.V.H.D really took care of me. They went beyond normal scope to make this fix timely. I have nothing but good things to say about I.V.H.D. I appologize if this has offended and S.V.H.D. reps, tech, etc, but that organization has left me horribly disatisfied and others have the right to know my experience. Maybe the moral of this debacle is when something seems to good to be true it usually is.
