My dealership says no, but what do they know? I was wondering if the Race ECM will work with the 07 engine? Also is this ecm plug and play, or is there additional set up I'll need to do? I will be putting a D&D system, along with K&N on with it.
Thanks in advance..

It will work on the 07, and is almost plug-and-play, but it requires a TPS reset after installation.

I'd use a race ECM before the stock one, but neither is a very good match for the D&D. The race and stock ECMs are for fueling a pipe that is big on the ends, weak in the middle, but the D&D is the opposite of that, big in the middle and weaker on the ends. So you'll get top and bottom end richness and a be a bit lean in the middle, and the AFV will drift around quite a bit depending on where you last cruise it. A remap is a better match, but pricier.

Thank you. I'll look into that then. Will either make it run dangerously lean for the time being? I basically went D&D for the loudness factor. Performance is something I'll worry about after my warranty is up and I can do the real upgrades without worry of warranty void. I just want it to sound good, and run smooth.

Lots of folks have run D&D's on race ECMs and been reasonably satisfied with the results. It will run rich on the ends, which won't hurt anything on the top but you could have plug fouling issues down low if you let a cold bike idle for extended periods after the AFV has learned substantially up above 100. It will learn substantially up if cruised in the 3500-4000 range, and will still be slightly lean in the 4000-5000 range. If cruised in the 2000-3000 range, it will learn below 100 and if run hard in open loop in the 4000-5000 range, it will be running fairly lean. The lean problem in the 4-5K range is a little worse with the stock ECM than race, and is probably the biggest reason to consider the race ECM.
Your warranty is already in jeopardy with just the muffler swap, making an ECM change for the better isn't going to have a greater adverse effect on warranty.

How would I go about a remap? I've read that american sport bike does good ones, do I send the ecm? I noticed the kits to do it are very pricey.. Thanks for your help..
