Ok, I did a search first and didnt find anything.
I was going to take the bike to work this morning and got a few miles from home and noticed no tail or brake light. The bike is a 2004 XB12S 760 miles.
Took it back home and drove the car.
This is going to bug the heck out of me ALL day so I thought I would see if this is a common problem and someone might say "happens all the time on these bikes, just do this" , or do I just have to start testing connections when I get off of work.
Im really weak at electrical but I would think this should be and easy fix.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Chuck

Blown bulb (both filiments) or blown fuse would be where I would start looking. Bulb would be the easiest... replace it and you are done. Fuse could be some sort of fluke, but probably also means there was some sort of short somewhere. It can be tedious to hunt down, but it's not rocket science.

I had a problem with the little "tabs" in the back of unit not making contact with the bulb. You might also make sure all the connections are still intact.

I had the same problem with the tabs.
Check the bulb first if both filaments are good and no fuses are blown ,bend the copper tabs on the connector out a little bit slather in some lithium grease n you should be good to go.

I really appreciate all the replies. Like I said, sitting here at work, this kind of stuff just drives me nuts. Would have been a great day to ride the bike too, just a little cool this morning (42) but its supposed to be nice this afternoon.
Thanks again, Im hoping its just the contacts, but I guess it is what it is.

You guys are great, it was just a matter of bending the tabs. Thanks again
