Hey everybody, I've got a customer who really wants a Uly but wants to lower the suspension. I have not found anything to do that. Does anyone have info on this? Thanks, BudC | ||

Budc, Take a look at these links. I am having my shock redone at Trackside as I write this so a XB9 shock will be on the market soon. I am staying with the lowered triple clamps for now. If you (the dealer) are going to take care of the lowering before delivery, Trackside would be the way to go if 35 mm is enough lowering. what about using a XB12 shock in place of the Uly shock, has this been considered or done? | ||

how about using stt suspension pieces or ss to bring it down even further? I know that there are supposed to be issues with the undertray hitting the shock, but the undertray is plastic and can be easily molded if you have a heat gun  | ||

We just did a Uly with the sTT suspension and it is GREAT!! lowers the bike about 1" and feels great on the road!! Don't forget to buy the sTT sidestand as well!!! | ||

what was the cost for the whole deal, and what was needed, forks and shock only? Where did you get the stuff? | ||

Cavi, Are you going the full-blown with the STT parts (about 1"), reworking by Trackside Engineering (35mm or 1.4"), my home brew described in the thread I posted above (1.5") or something else? | ||

I plan on going with the TT parts, I really feel that the 1 inch will give me enough, the price is not really that bad and I can revert to stock in the futrue if needed real easy, or I can sell my stock stuff on E-bay. Also I have no downtime with this option. I jus wanted some more info from EricZ as he just did this. | ||

That sounds cool. Let us know how it turns out. I take it you're getting the forks and shock. That shouldn't be a big deal at all to swap out. Does the TT's shock have the same fittings as the Uly? The XB9 shock I used didn't and there was a good bit of time spent getting it to fit. However, just removing and installing the shock body was simpler than the manual. You don't need to remove anything. | ||

I think the fittink is the same, in theory the TT and the Uly are the same frame and all, so I hope!!! |
