I recently installed ceramic coated header on my XB12S and noticed that the front cylinder had much more carbon in it than the rear. In fact, the rear looked almost white inside. The bike has been running a little choppy, especially at lower RPM's. It goes like crazy when I twist on the throttle. Is there info that someone might share about my observations? Can one fuel injector be adjusted? Is it up to the mapping of the ECM?

Is the bike running okay? If so, don't try to fix what isn't broke. A little carbon inside the front exhaust tract is not a problem.

Runs like crazy. 30-110 mph in the blink... I was curious and wanted to know if it was typical or needed attention. Thanks for your feedback.

If the bike is rich on the front, and lean on the back, that could indicate an issue couldn't it? Especailly if it has been acting unusually choppy at low RPM...

I'd be more looking at it from the perspective that the front and rear are apparently running differently, than from the perspective that the front is showing a little carbon.

Kedo- if I were you I'd pull the plugs just to check. Make sure you don't have a leak in your exhaust gaskets, and maybe check the intake seals too.

Naustin-
Thanks for the suggestion. I just changed the exhaust gaskets and they are clean and "sealed" I will check the intake and plugs. I just bought the service manual so, I'll have "directions". But, as Blake stated above, "if it ain't broke..." So, I'm not going to worry too much. Ride-on!
