Just wondered if anyone had put a right side air scoop on their xb12 lighting 03 or newer? I was told by dealer that they've heard that it causes the rear cyl. to run hotter, as it disrupts the flow (I have an 07 scg) and on it the left side routes air to the rear cyl.
and I put an select seat on the scg and it dosen't fit at all along the air box, like it leaves a big gap. Enough to see the bolts on the back side of the air box.
Thanks Dave

I have the '07 cherry bomb myself...I'm gonna put the r/h scoop on mine...fan runs 90% of the time, I think more air would solve that. My bud has one on his '05 scg, and his fan runs maybe 10% of the time, at the most...gotta go with results, not what someone heard (if ya know what I mean)will let you know how it works once aI get 'er done.

Hey Packrat, Thanks for the info. Do you get a lot of heat coming from the right side on your upper leg? I do and thats what I thought would help the problem (the right side air scoop).
Thanks again Dave

I just installed a CF RSS from American Sport Bike. The fan did not come on after the initial ride, a first for that. The ambient temp was in the mid 80's. The hot right thigh sensation was less with the RSS.
As far as the rear cylinder being too cool with the RSS, there are some guys on another Buell site who are doing surface temperature assessments on the rear cylinder with and without the RSS. Nothing posted there lately with the temps.
