Has anyone had their wheels polished by a shop somewhere? About how much was it? Just trying to decide if it's worth it to go through the BS of doing it myself, especially when someone who has a clue what they're doing could do it faster/better.

Get some Eagle One Billet Wheel polish, available at most Autozone/Advanced Auto stores, maybe even Wally World. It is a bottle about 6" tall, 3" wide, 1" front to back.

It's the best stuff I've found for aluminum wheels.

Takes a fair amount of rubbing, use a true cotton cloth/towel. Once the towel is black in that area, start using a clean part of the towel, rub until it shines!

I've used the Mother's Powerballs (a foam ball installed on a drill motor) but I don't think it was any faster than hand polishing and not any better finish.

I use this chrome shop for my plating needs: http://www.customchromeplating.com
They do just polishing as well. Call for a ballpark quote first. It is a quality shop, so don't expect a cheap price.
Probably the wrong time of year for a quick turn around though, fall/winter is the best time to have stuff polished/chromed. They are in Grafton, OH, outside of Cleveland.
