So,
I want to get rid of my cheese grater tail and being short on funds thought about doing the mods myself.
Has anyone done it themselves and would they be so kind as to let me know how its done. As in: where to cut it, how to mount it, and tools needed.
I did an extensive search on Bad Web for articles pertaining to it but haven't found anything.
Thanks!

Its not hard just look at it many times before you cut.
I drew a line with a sharpie about 1/4 inch or so under the taillight then made it flow around each side. Left it so big to give plenty room to sand and get the flow just right..
Like I said its not hard, I took my tail section and side rails and had them powdercoated for 75 bucks. Looks killer.

Tackled this project yesterday and today... ended up using a sharpie, sawz-all, grinder, and a drill for punching new blinker holes. Pretty cool... its still a bit rough; am gonna go over to Heli Modified and use some of their tools tomorrow to get it just right before slipping it in with some of their bars to get powder coated!
Thanks for the info everyone...

So...
Thanks to the stuff that you guys so graciously pointed out to me my tail chop is complete. And the only thing it cost me was a little electricity, gas, and a sixpack to pay back the powdercoater.

These are a few pics, I am still trying to figure out the best license plate mounting option... any ideas? Remember, do it yourself/cheap rules the day...

I just did mine today. Paint is still drying. This was alot easier that i thought it would be. All it too was an angle grinder, a bench grinder, a few files, some sandpaper and some spray paint. Check it out and let me know what you think. Still trying to figure out what im gonna do with the plate and signals.
