I read a message posted by someone that described how to use the European running light socket in the middle of the headlight enclosure to light both high and low beams at the same time. I thought this was a great solution to getting more light to the front of my bike. However, the plug on my '06 ULY is not powered when the switch is in either high or low mode. I am assuming that this is just the way they are wired and not a fault with my machine. I really would like to have both lights on at high beam and one on at low. Is there an easy solution anyone can suggest? Is there a place to reconnect the running light power? Thanks for any help.

The question that answers itself. I opened up the handlebar switch box and found 2 wires leading to the hi-lo switch. On my bike they are blue and yellow. I played around with a jumper wire and determined that just jumping the blue to the yellow would give me what I wanted. 1 beam on low, 2 beams on high. I soldered a jumper into the circuit and it works fine. The only tricky part is pay attention to how the vestigal choke cable guide comes out. It only goes back in the same way. If you are not replacing bulbs this is easier I think than using the Euro running light. I was putting on a tall shield and upgrading my bulbs so I had the front off anyway. See you all at MBIV.
