Any recommendations on a good pit stand for a 12R? Preferably one that doesn't require the installation of spools.

thanks

Pit Bull is what I use.

Thanks Metal! One follow-up question: Is that the "standard" stand (http://www.pit-bull.com/catalog/product_info.php?c Path=23_178&products_id=31&osCsid=e75b6dc7667ede22 1dccd495518d42cd

or the "SS" stand (http://www.pit-bull.com/catalog/product_info.php?c Path=23_178&products_id=33&osCsid=e75b6dc7667ede22 1dccd495518d42cd

OK, one more question... What is that black bar on the rear frame of your Lightning?

It's standard. It doesn't have any adapters for lifting via spool but I believe they are available.

I'm not sure if they come in different widths. I got mine from Daves so you might want to check with Andy (the new Dave : ))over at the Appleton sponsor thread. I think it was something like $250 for the set. (after Badweb discount)

I think Al sells them as well but not sure.

The front stand requires a certain size pin to fit into the lower triple. I want to say #2 but again the brain is a little hazy. Andy will know and if he doesn't he has DaveS's phone number : )

They used to be wide and narrow, now all rear stands are wide and fit all XBs. I can't imagine owning a bike without owning the front and rear stands. Tire changes are too expensive and too often to take to a shop to remove the wheels. When up on the PB front an rear stands, the bike is more stable than when it is parked on the kickstand.

The black bar is a ventura rack with the grab handle installed. Its the best way to carry lots of stuff on a lightning.

I missed the black bar question

Thanks Al
I totally agree about having the stands. I think they're better , faster and more secure than a jack under the muffler.

(I'm still saving my pennies in case you start offering Crossroads in black : ))
