hi all
i'm going to by a vdsts software so,
my question is : with that(vdsts), i know i can do tps reset and afv reset , now my point is the afv (adaptive fuel valve), that if i'm right add or subtract pressure to the fuel going to the injectors. what afv reset mean ? can i change the afv value setting the ecm with an higher or lower fuel pressure data or the software do it alone non considering what value i want to put in ?
any answer welcome ( Al please...)

You can monitor the AFV, and you can reset the AFV to 100. But you can not set the AFV to any value. And it wouldn't really matter if you could, it will always re-acquire to the value that is dirived from the way the bike is running during AFV learn mode (steady state, light load cruise operation).

You can not change the fuel pressure via Software, you can only do it by changing the pressure regulator in the fuel pump. Buried in the algorithms in the ECM, I'm sure there is a fuel pressure parameter or something similar that would scale the injection duration calculated from the seed values in the map. But we do not have access to that parameter with DL (remapping SW), and we certainly don't have any visibility into that with VDSTS. There is a fuel pump test in the active test part of VDSTS, but it doesn't do anything relative to fuel pressure.

Hopefully that answers your question, I had a hard time parsing your question.

so considering that with the rapid bike module and software i can do tps reset and riding for ten minutes at constant rpm i can reset the afv also maybe i don't need to by a vdsts...what you think about?

Being able to reset the TPS is easy and handy. That alone justifies the purchase of the VDSTS, IMO. Being able to monitor the other system parameters will not doubt be useful for troubleshooting. I don't understand the benefit in resetting the AFV so I've not done it.

You can reset the TPS on the Buell ECM with Rapidbike? Really? I wasn't aware of that, but I'm not real familiar with that product.

Or did you mean Directlink instead of Rapidbike?

If you have DL, and you only maintain one bike, then DL is all you really need. But I use both VDSTS and DL all the time, they each have their advantages. Both DL and VDSTS can reset both AFV and TPS, but DL only works on the bike the key is locked to, VDSTS works on any Buell you hook it to.

no i've not D.L. but rapid bike.
the only reset that you can do with that its the throttle position % . the procedure its similar but with some difference . you must move the throttle from closed to wide open and r.b. software read the volts values from 0% to 80%(wide open) and than send those values to the ecm ( this is a little resume). with other bikes ducati for example you can read some others sensors parameters but not with buells. you can change the fuel and ignition maps but you know this. its a nice module not like D.L. less dangerous than D.L. for people like me because you cannot change more than 3 degrees of timing with r.b. and most of all there is the only avaible here with some people that can explain you how to work with that , nobody know here how handle a d.l. . to the other question , my interest its not in resetting a.f.v. but in found more fuel pressure by handling the a.f.v. , but maybe i'm looking in the wrong direction , maybe i must look for a bigger fuel pressure regulator ?
