I just changed over to a Mueller clutch kit. The new gasket for my clutch inspection cover has a flat side and a rounded side. Does the rounded side go facing the engine or facing the cover???? The service manual does not specify which way.....so I be confused!!!

Thanks & Keep Your knees to the Breeze!

Kevin,

I don't think it matters. For example, the gear case cover gasket will only install one way, rounded out concave in(can't flip it, holes wont line up). The primary cover gasket will go on one way... But the rounded side in and concave out??
Maybe it's just me, but I install the clutch cover gasket rounded side out and the P-chain inspection gasket the same.

Thanks Brain.....

I wound up seeing in the exploded parts book that it looks like raised/curved side in, so I went with that vibe. Ran 120 miles (hard) and no leaks, so far so good.

Thanks Again,
Kevin
