Good morning from Texas. Long time Harley rider (E-Glide) just bought first Buell XB12s. Found an awesome deal on a new 2005 (12 miles on it), with a voltage paint set out the door for $8,200.00. Love the bike, hate the friggin' mirrors. Curious about the Oberon Bar End mirrors. My only concern is that they look a little small at 2.25". Anyone have any experience with these. They have the look I want (very clean), and some weight to them which I know helps with vibration from back in my youthful CBR days. If so does anyone know the inside diameter of the bars for ordering purposes? Thanks a million

I have the weights but the mirror only on the right side, as I'm in the UK.

I too loved the clean look and the small size. The quality is outstanding to say the least, and the adjustment available from them is great. The mirror will not shake or vibrate so the image stays clear. Oberon have paid attention to the image size too, and have got the view ratio / distance or whatever they call it just right in my opinion.

I do have one reservation about the size though, but I haven't put the one mirror I have to the ultimate test. That is, I still have the 'Mickey Mouse' original mirrors fitted too so haven't used the bar end one on its own. Whether or not it's up to the task on its own, or even as a pair, I'm not sure.

I sometimes go out with friends and we get into a little bit of dicing now and again. In these overtake and be overtaken situations when there's at least three or more of you mixing it up at speed I'm one of those riders who likes to know what's going on behind often, so I use the mirrors constantly. The Oberon bar end mirrors seem a little small to get into your line of sight quick enough when riding and mixing it up, though my observation is based on the distraction caused by still using the original mirrors too. It's impossible to ignore them if they're there, so I really must test ride the Oberon's on their own.

Incidentally, Oberon is a small company run and worked by bikers and their products all smack of quality it has to be said.

Oberon's road fund license holder is really well made. It's 100% water tight.

I went with the smaller Euro size version as it looks so much neater small. They make them square shaped too for other Euro countries.

Oberon supply Colet's from 14mm to 22mm.

If memory serves, my S1W bars required a 19m Colet.

Don't go looking at Oberon's latest billet LED indicators. They're stunning and bloody cheap..............and I just bought a pair of Kellerman's, d'oh!

Evening Gang....

I got the Oberons with 18mm collets and they still have some play. I added some metal/exhaust tape to snug them up. If anyone is thinking about ordering them I'd go with a 19mm collet. I have some on the way.

P.S. The Oberons seem a little small. I can see OK, but I get to share the Buell with my wife. She does not like them as much as I do. She likes the location, but hates the 1/2 size view. We may wind up the Rizomas before long.
