I noticed that there was a small leak (in the form of moist)of oil at the area of the adjusting screw for the compression of the rear shock at the reservoir. Also there is moist at the bolt connecting the hose to the reservoir. I saw no droplets but the area was wet.

I tried to tighten the bolt and 1-2 droplets of oil, leaked. The bolt did not move.

Do I need to rebuilt the shock?
Is this common after 8.000 miles?
Can it be replaced under warranty ?

Yours is the first instance I've heard of XB shock leaking issues. It should be covered by warranty for sure. Don't hesitate to take it in and get the issue documented. They may tell you that slight weeping is not a problem and to keep an eye on it but then you'll have documented the issue and if it ever does become more serious, you'll be covered.
