I was looking at the Alpinestars ST-3 DryStar gloves:

Anyone have any experience with these or any other non heated production winter glove?

I've been wearing my regular leathers in previous winters, and I am tired of freezing my hands. I am looking to make sure I still have some crash protection, as I do not want the glove to shred if I ever take a digger. Thanks.

I've got a pair of those gloves. Nice gloves, not as bulky as some. Not warm enough for extended riding below freezing (without a windscreen of handguards IMO), but I like them.

Thanks for the info.

How are they made - are they going to last? How do you think they'd hold up if you went down?

Thanks again

How much you wanting to spend? Since starting to use their products I cant stop saying enough good things about Helimot. They aren't cheap but they are NICE!

However, the winter gloves are not theirs. They tested many out and found these to be the best of the bunch. If these gloves have Helimot's endorsement and they are selling them you can be sure this is a great glove. And these are not that expensive IMO. They will be coming out with their own winter glove in the future but I am not sure how far out that is. They just haven't had the time yet to manufacturer theirs.

12r - Those Dainese gloves are nice - I bet they really do the job - you have a pair? A MSRP of $240 +/- is pretty tough to justify for me right now, but they sure look tough.

I was checking out the Dainese website - they have quite a few cold weather offerings.

Yohinan - The 3rd party offering from Helimot look good, and the price seems very reasonable. Have you seen or tried them?

Thanx for the help

Nick, I have an older pair of the D-Dry gloves without the titanium knuckles and they are outstanding, bags of feel and toasty warm. They are two years old and have moulded to me and my Firebolt so much that I find it difficult to ride competently in cold weather without them.

I don't work for Dainese or anything but I do have a Pro-Shop just 20 miles from where I live. While there's a lot of stuff in there that would be half the price if it didn't have a Dainese logo on it, there are some real gems in the range. The paper-thin thermal clothing and microfleece accessories are great for cold weather riding without the bulk.

I have not tried these gloves but I have seen them when I was in the store. They look nice but again I did not pick them up or try them on. I live in So Cal and really cant ever see myself needing these so I didn't give them a try.

As I said though if Helimot is selling them then I can guarantee you they are a nice product. Once Helimot comes out with his own winter glove I am almost sure they will drop this line, as their product I am sure will outperform this current offering. On the other hand you can be sure they will be in the 150.00-250.00 range for those gloves though. HTH

Thanks for the input you guys - much appreciated. I'd love to pull the trigger on those Dainese gloves, but I think my wife would kill me.

Yes, but unfortunately, they might make for the ONLY christmas gift!

She'd never understand 2+ bills for a pair of gloves, I can hear it now...

Women.
