Heading home last week, noticed headlight was not on. Pulled into get some gas and fix fuse. New fuse got headlights. Put seat back on, hit the starter button, nothing but a spinning motor with no fire. Rubberdown rescued me. Looked at the bike a few nights ago and messed with the diodes, but also moved the handlebars, the fuel pump whined over so I hit the start button, she fires up idles and revs perfect. Shut it off and hasn't started since. Any suggestions?

short or ground in the portion of the wiring harness that moves when the forks rotate --

not ALOT of help, but that data, a meter, and an hour or so should help pinpoint the problem

Could be the ign relay. Switch it with the starter relay. If the starter doesn't work then it is the relay.

Switched all the relays 1st, then started checking fuses.
Over the weekend, found that the fuel pump would wind up with the sidestand all the way up, but the neutral light stayed on, no matter what gear!
So bike will start and ride, but green light is on, if stand is lowered it kills off. Another BWB said possibly the diodes are out, could it also be neutral safety switch, or clutch switch??
Gonna try to get some new diodes this afternoon

Sounds like kickstand switch issue.
Jiggle it around n see if that helps.
Try disconnecting it n reconnecting it.
Can always just hardwire it closed but I like the fact my bike dies if I ride off with the stand down.(even if it is embarrassing as hell)

If the neutral light is staying on then that sensor is bad. When you drop the stand, and the motor goes dead, it is doing the job. Start with the neutral switch.
