my '06 xb12r with only 11 miles, for some reason or another is only running on one Cyl. Now, i am by NO means a motorcycle engine repair tech. but i do know my way around general mech. stuff. I've done the idiot check and checked the plug wires, but even after running for about 15 min (idle mainly) the front exaust is barely warm and the front Cyl. is barely hotter than that. Where do i start with this? Fuel system? valves? |

The front plug is most likely fouled.
This is a common problem, if the throttle is "blipped" before the engine is warm.
Don't feel bad, it happens a lot in the show rooms too.
letting the bike warm up before revving or riding it will also help prevent oil leaks
at the base gaskets according to many of the more experienced Buellers here.

ok, there has to be a better way to go about this than what im doing... while i think theres a service manual in the mail (hope hope hope) the only way i have been able to find on how to get to that spark plug is removing the entire air intake system, is there a better way? faster maybe? easier? |

If you use a T-27 torx socket (1/4" drive) to remove the left-side air scoop, that should free up access to the front Plug. A simple wrench can then be used to remove it. No need to take airbox out. Now if you need to check the rear plug, that's a little trickier. Best of luck. |
