I have a 2000 X1 that when in neutral won't run if the sidestand is down, making it hard to warm the bike up on cold mornings. I thought I remembered reading another posting about this type of problem on this site earlier, but can't find it now. I have never owned a bike that wouldn't run with the kickstand down in neutral. Oh, and one other thing; when the bike is in gear, I can put the kickstand down (while the clutch is pulled in) and the bike still runs. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this fixed?

Side stand safety switch? Jumper the plug or install a new switch
