While riding the other day my speedo went dead, light, odometer, speedometer, everything. Then I noticed the turn signals and tail light and brake lights along with the horn where inop also. I checked the fuses and found one blown so I replaced it and everything was working until I went for another ride and it blew again. When I got home I tried to replace the fuse but now it blows as soon as I put it in (when the key is turned on). I noticed the odometer stopped working when I was riding in the rain a few weeks ago but every thing was working after it dried out. My horn has been going out intermittently also. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start diagnosing this problem? I can't ride until it is fixed.

Disconnect your speedo sensor (deutsch connector down towards the transmission), replace the fuse, and see if fuses stop blowing.

It could be a toasted speedo sensor, not at all unusual for that era bike. The new part from the dealer solves the problem.

I know this is old but I found the problem to be the mounting tab had broken off the flasher relay and was rattling around in the flasher. I guess it would hit just the right spots every now and then and blow the fuse. New flasher solved the problem.
