XB12S 2004 7800 miles.

When I push my yellow ignition switch it will click, pause for a second, then start up. Sometimes it will click, then not do anything at all. When it does this I pull the brake lever or rock it or play with the throttle until it finally tries to turn over.

Could this be a bad thing? It hasn't let me down yet, but sometimes I'm afraid it will.

Maybe clean the battery connections and snug them down. Could also be a loose or corroded ground/starter lead.

sounds likely that your battery is a little tired.
3 years old, and very few miles on it implies sitting a lot. hard on batteries to sit.

Had the same problem.

I took it to the dealer and they said I needed a new ign switch, which they supposedly ordered. After a week of it not arriving and the problem getting worse, I took apart the switch and tightened the 2 connector screws.

100% solved!
