You'd be taking a chance just riding to the shop to have the new tires put on, take off the wheels yourself and get the tires replaced.

Definitely a risk you should NOT take!

Tires are far more critical on a bike than on a car.
Even at low speeds a blow out is a hairy experience.

There are many net-oriented stores that have tires for about C note. Tires wear... Maybe try something more mileage oriented if you're on a strict tire budget.

I have ordered both a front and rear from "RideDirect.com" for just over US$200. They don't carry Pirelli's, but do carry just about everything else. I believe the shipping was free too on an order of $200 or more.
