Anyone know the sizes and thread pitch for the master cylinder banjo bolts for;

- HD style master (I'm guessing 3/8" UNC)
- tuber master (probably metric)
- XB master (metric??)

I'm specifically looking for a single banjo bolt M10 x 1.25

Thanks

Henrik

I've always preferred guitars over banjos.

The master cylinder (and single piston caliper) on my '97 FXD is 3/8-24. That would make that a UNF thread, not the 3/8-16 UNC.

Some of the H-D's use a 7/16-24 banjo bolt.

To further the confusion, I think all the banjos used on H-D, Buell, et al, are either 10mm or 12mm. The nature of the sealing washers is such that the 10mm banjos will probably work fine with 3/8" and 10mm bolts and the 12mm banjos work fine with the 7/16" and 12mm bolts.

I bought some 10mm banjos (I had the bolts) on eBay recently because it was quick and easy. If you're anywhere near a HoKaSuYa dealer, and the parts guys can figure out what to sell you, the 10mm x 1.25mm (and the 10mm x 1mm) is pretty common in use on the rice rockets.

Thanks Jack; I called quite a few dealers in the area, and they would all be happy to "order" me a banjo bolt. Got is solved though. Turns out - as you mention - that the banjo off a GSXR front end I bought recently fits fine.

Thanks again.

The XB master uses a 10M P1.25 banjo bolt. I am about to install a 17mm Nissin radial master cylinder and that is the size it needed. I am putting this on my tuber, but I haven't taken the old one off yet to check the size.
