How do you guys recommend bending this piece with the footpeg back in place? It's touching the engine case.. I'm thinking heat it up and pry back into place. I bought a new shiftpeg, but ended up bending the old one back into place..

riding my '01 Blast through a neighborhood S-turn, when I noticed a huge mud puddle through the middle of the turn from construction. I slowed down to about 10-15mph, and when I went to lean the bike it kept going straight. I should've just rode up the slanted curb into a yard, but panicked and hit the brakes still leaning the bike..lowsided and slid about 10ft to the curb with my foot caught between the bike and ground.

Had jeans, and a motorcycle jacket on..few scratches through the jeans. However, I was an idiot wearing low-cut shoes..and the footpeg, I think shiftpeg too were digging into my ankle : (

My wife used to insist on wearing tennis shoes on my bike. I insisted on leather boots. We lowsided on a low speed corner shod with gravel one night. Her boot was ate up pretty bad. Instead of getting mad she actually thanked me for forcing her to wear boots.
