Author Message   Cadhopper Posted on Monday, August 21, 2006 - 11:13 am:        Has anybody actually put the Uly rearset on a S or Ss model and if so how many parts had to be changed (ie..brake line, shift linkage)? From the posts I've read doing a search it seems the Uly rearset will fit the Ss long frame and give me more clearance between the seat and the pegs. I overlaid and photochopped a few pictures of the Uly, Ss and a F650GS and it looks like the Ss pegs with the Uly rearset is just slightly higher than my F650GS which would be fine with me for those 500 mile a day touring rides. One person who will certainly know about this procedure is the gentleman who owns Trojan-Horse in the United Kingdom. He builds racing bikes using the Ulysses Frame, which is the same frame that is used for the Lightning Long. I THINK that I remember a thread about this same topic. I THINK that the conclusion that was reached was that the Ulysses peg brackets will simply bolt onto a Lightning Long. The Ulysses peg mounts will probably require some Ulysses shift linkage parts and rear brake master cylinder linkage parts to be installed. The conversion MAY also require a Ulysses Rear Master Cylinder. I am not completely sure about all of this, but it has been discussed on this Board in the past few months.
