I’m interested in reviews/impressions of the Buell Select Seat for XBs. I did a BWB search and found many posts on Corbin seats but not much on the Select Seat. Anyone have one? Likes/dislikes?

Thanks,
Foster

All i can say about the select seat is... if it is more comfortable than the stock seat on my 12R then im glad i had it changed out before ever riding on the stock seat.

It just could be that it is not comfortable for me because of my hight. Im 6'4 and tend to sit way back.

i still have the stock seat and am considering putting it back on just to see what if any difference there is.

The seat is more comfortable, right up until the point when you ride in the rain. That V channel directs a stream of water right up the coolio. Seattle rider, no select seat here... Look for it in classifieds soon. Black & Orange of course

I got a 06 select seat for x-mass. Yes, it is much more comfortable! Less vibration, more padding, better feel the turns / leg angle. The stitching quality seems not the best (some puckering) will see if it holds together.

I got one from St. Paul Harley off of ebay. It didn't fit well at the front. Was off the seat rail about an inch to an inch and a quarter and bowed out about a quarter of an inch. Sent it back for a swap and the other one sent did the same, sent it back to. Yea, I'd like to have one, but I want it to fit right also. Sure didn't look good.

I purchased the select seat when I bought my XB12Scg. It came in about a week after I picked up the bike. Only a short time in the stock saddle but I can tell you the select seat is worth it. I can ride 2 or 3 times longer without my arse getting sore. Have actually spent a full day on the road without even thinking about my arse. Where are you located? Perhaps someone close by with a select can let you try it out on your bike for a short time?

Is there any difference in seat height with the "select seat"??? I bought the cg version because of the lower height..Is the select version any higher??

Yes, the Select Seat is about an inch taller than the stock seat. But it is worth it. I bought the Scg for the same reason. I only have a 29" inseam. My feet are almost flat on the ground with the Select.

I have tried the stock CityX, Select, and the Corbin, none are completely comfortable, but I keep going bac to the Corbin for the long days in the saddle. My select only has two rides on it and I'll probably eBay it or list it on here.

What Corbin seat are you talking about? The "gunfighter" seat?

Cityxslicker-
I totally understand the water funnelling deal after a 175 mile ride in North Central Florida on Sunday on my City-x with the new select seat. We checked the forecast and there was "only" a 20% chance of rain predicted when sidestands went up on Sunday morning, so we opted not to bring the rain gear. Bad choice. To our benefit, the skies chose not to open up until we were a half hour from home, but when they did, it was butt funnel all the way for me. Trudging into the garage at home, I was soaked from the waist down, and my riding buddies were laughing hysterically! I love the seat for its all day riding comfort, and it seems to be less hot in the warm weather than the stock seat but make sure you pack the rain gear if there is any chance of rain!

Once I get luggage for the City-x, I'm hoping it will lessen the butt funnel tendencies of the seat, and I'll have a place to keep my own rain gear!

I have the Select seat for the XBSs--doesnt fit like the stock one-why? its a product from Buell-should fit perfect-Feel: it is firmer than the stock seat (which should work for longer rides) it is supposed to have gel in it but I dont think it does..Boo! It is not as high a quality as stock-in appearance ,fit, and materials..it sits a little higher than stock for more legroom--I throw a sheepskin on the top if Im taking a trip. its not a bad product overall.

I agree, the craftsmanship and fit is disappointing. But yes, it does have Gel in there. Oh I forgot all about the factory installed rain gutter on that seat! If you don't have rain gear you'll need a tube of ointment for diaper rash!
